ALRCS, the Academic Learning Resource Core Staff, is a student organization aimed to support students' development in self-learning capability. The organization assists APU students by providing a suitable learning environment according to the students' preferences.  ALRCS also organization the following student guidances and events:

Libary Guidance

Provide freshmen assistance regarding online tools and materials. ALRCS Libary guidance informs the students of the necessary tools and advice to help them progress through their academic journey. ALRCS also provide library tour for those in needs. You can find the library guidance's help desk in the library.

Guidance for SSAW

SSAW guidance will provide students with an assignment paper so that students can practically learn how to cite for each type of resource.  Students are asked to look for a book in the library and get a stamp from ALRCS staff to see whether they can search for material in the library based on the information in the APU online database.

Bibliobattle

 

 

The biggest book review competition in APU. Bibliobattle prepare a theme for the participants to introduce their favorite book for and present it to the audience. This event is a great learning opportunity for their perspectives to be widened by the participants’ presentations.

S&G

S&G team or the Sessions and guidance team holds a variety of events to instruct APU students with hard and soft skills necessary for their university life and in the future career, such as office 365 apps and public speaking skills. 

 

 

 

What kind of self-learning capability is ALRCS trying to achieve?

  • ALRCS encourages APU students to utilize the resources provided by APU as much as possible. For students to be able to do that, ALRCS plays its role.

    • Encourage students to find the most suitable learning environment for each individual. 

      • 1st floor is for those who prefer learning with peers

      • 2nd floor is for those who prefer silent study

    • Introducing useful hard skills for self-learning, such as office 365 apps, as well as soft skills including public speaking skills through sessions and guidance.

    • Promoting reading culture to enhance knowledge and explore a variety of perspectives from books.
