APU hosts the Global Business Case Challenge every year and brings students from different parts of the world in a singular platform to utilize their case solving skills and to compete in a global platform. APU student volunteers, the knowledge partner GBL (Global Business Leaders) and professors work for almost a year to organize this global event.
This year’s Hunter’s Dream Global Business Case Challenge was no different. 12 Universities from around the world participated in GBCC 2019. Over a period of six days, the participants from the different universities, 48 in total, had the opportunity to explore Oita City and take part in the case challenges. The case challenge had two sections. There was a short 5 hour case challenge, followed by a 24 hour case challenge where the participants used their knowledge and skills to come up with the best solution for the case. This year’s case was based on a Japanese company called Nihon keiei, where the participants had to find solutions regarding how the company can expand their operations in Asian countries and how they can constantly come up with ideas for new services.

After a tough competition between the finalists, CUHK won this year’s Hunter’s Dream GBCC, since their solution seemed to be the most feasible. Case challenges like these help boost participants expand their knowledge on a global level and challenge themselves in many ways.
